The Minolta 16 P is often confused with the 16 PS (and vice versa),because the "S" is not written anywhere. These two models, almost identical visually, bear the same plate underneath: "Minolta-16Model-P".
It is on the façade that we find a significant difference: the PS has a lever with two positions: either a red dot or a white point. This is actually the choice of two speeds (1/30th and 1/100th), and this explains the "S":speed in English.  On the other hand, theP has only one speed: 1/100th, including flash (magnesic or electronic).Exposure is controlled by the diaphragm, the standard values of which are associated with meteorological symbols: sun, veiled sun, light cloudy, dark cloudy. The lens, a 3.5/25mm three-lens, without focus, is optimized for a distance of 5m. Additional lenses make it possible to photograph closer objects: 1.30 m and 0.80 m. They are fixed by a tiny bayonet in front of thelens. Three filters were also available for color (80A, 81B, 1A skylight), andone for black and white (Y48).
