Vintage Minolta 16 MG, Old School Spy Camera! With Case, Accessories. Ships FREE!
There is an old television show, from back in the days of black and white TV, about a poor mountaineer. A guy who could barely keep his family fed. Then he struck oil while hunting (he struck oil with a bullet; highly dubious). Anyway, he moved his family out to California and at one point his idiot nephew decided he was going to become a spy. Playing on the James Bond craze, he dubbed himself a "double-naught spy". This is the camera he would have perhaps purchase, had his education passed beyond the sixth grade. Instead of a sensible camera he invested in a cast-iron hat. Do not be like him!
This is a vintage Minolta 16 MG, a wee camera that measures a scant 4" by 1 1/2" by 1". Back in the day before you could hide a camera in a shirt button or an earring, this thing was the bee's knees. Please note that this camera is untested (no film), and is listed for sale AS-IS with no returns.
This will ship with the original locking case, though I'm afraid the key has been lost to either time or counter-spies. It includes a flash, though there does not seem to be a flash bulb present. There is a case for the camera itself; inside the box that case contains a smaller case that holds what seem to be two lens covers/filters. The small case in the top right of the box is empty, and as there is no manual I'm afraid I'm not sure what it once held. There is also a very old battery (I'm sure it doesn't work, but at least you can use it to find a suitable replacement) and what seems to be the original pack of desiccant. Please see photos for condition and contents. The camera does have some minor cosmetic damage, mostly some small scratches. The camera does wind and click, so I suspect that if you could find some film for it, it may well work.
Please note that I am not a camera expert, but will answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability.
Fast, FREE shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail, Fed Ex, or UPS - whichever of the three proves most cost effective.
Thanks for looking! (And good luck with the espionage!)
