Passion Play, Oberammergau, 1910, Complete Set of 50 Postcards. Unposted, outstanding condition. Fronts and backs of all 50 are shown, as is the original guide to the play and descriptions of all 50 cards. Beautiful colors capture pre-war Germany/Bavaria and the famous Passion Play with the main characters. Play is performed every 10 years in Bavaria, part of southern German, at the start of the Alps.  Cards picture the original cast, major scenes, and the gorgeous setting of the drama.  Based on biblical passages, includes figures from both the Old and New Testaments.  Selling from my parents estate, has been in the family 110 years!  Copyright 1910 by A. W. Herbst. Original string tie from my grandmother binds the paper guide around the 50 cards with descriptions of scenes pictured on each card, also written on the reverse of each card. Condition is "Used".
