Minolta 16 II sub-mini camera... it works!
Here's a classic late-1950s Minolta sub-mini camera that still works! All you need is a roll of film.
It has the four-element (Tessar-type) Rokkor 1:2.8 / f=22 lens, which looks great. I have never touched or tried to clean the lens, but it looks very clean.
I shot several rolls of film with this camera many years ago, and got some great images (see the image). I tested it today, and it appears that all functions still work properly.
The shutter speeds all sound good, and the aperture adjusts smoothly. These are really simple cameras (no focus adjustment), so there's not much that can go wrong. At f=8, pretty much everything from 7 feet to infinity will be in pretty good focus.
I think it is missing a piece that covers the viewfinder window. It has not affected the functioning when I have used it. The outside has a few scuffs, but no dents.
These are NOT rare on the auction sites, BUT..... this one has just been tested by someone who actually knows how to use it.
Please check the images and l
et me know if you have questions.
I am an amateur photographer and I am selling cameras and lenses that I have used and collected over the past 30 years. I would LOVE to keep them all and use them... but I got married and no longer have time or space for repairing and using these old cameras. Also, the wife thinks that all of this photography stuff is just clutter.
I am describing their condition in such detail because I want people to be happy with their purchases. I want them to go to a good home... but I
do NOT
want them back!!
