Lunar Explorer ME 801 Vintage Battery Operated Space Toy

Description

A nice working example of the ME801 lunar Explorer. This is a hard to find battery operated space toy manufactured in Shanghai China in the late 1960s early 1970s. The upper body of the toy is made of lithographed tin and the lower body is plastic. The toy is about 10 inches in length. When switched on the explorer moves forward with stop-n-go action, the arms start crawling, the cockpit rotates, and the red search lights in the front illuminate.
The toy appears to be in new old stock condition with little if any play wear. Expect to see areas of factory touch up to the lithographed upper body. The box art for this toy is spectacular, and the box itself is in great shape with only minor shelf wear and a few very minor creases. Original cardboard inserts are included.
Requires 2 D cell batteries to operate (not included).
