The Exergen TAT-2000 temporal thermometer is a light-duty professional model intended for school nurses, nursing homes, and other occasional use clinical settings.
Offering a range of features which are far superior to those of standard thermometers, temple thermometers feature breakthrough technology, allowing for more gentle and less invasive temperature readings.
The Exergen TAT-2000 Temporal Thermometer is Exergen's economical Professional Thermometer.
The Exergen TAT-2000 Temporal Thermometer is recommended for use in nursing homes, school nurses, occasional use clinical settings, office-based practices, ambulatory care clinics, pheresis, and blood donor units, and extended care facilities. The Temporal Scanner measures the temperature of the temporal artery to obtain an accurate representation of the body's core temperature. Taking temperatures with the TAT-2000 is quick, accurate, and non-invasive, making it an instant favorite for both patients and clinicians.
Taking a temperature with a light stroke across the forehead, the Exergen TAT-2000 is easy to use and reliable - it takes thousands of readings per scan, then chooses the best result. The LED scan indicator indicates the temperature is being scanned and flashes when a higher measurement is detected, indicating the location of the temporal artery. Exergen's Infrared Thermometry is proven to be more accurate than ear or oral methods, and is as accurate as rectal thermometry, without the discomfort or lag time.
Exergen Thermometers can be cleaned with disinfecting wipes after each use or, if additional infection control is required, disposable covers are available - See accessories below. The TAT-2000 is proudly made in the USA.
Non-Invasive
The TemporalScanner temple thermometer is a completely non-invasive method of measuring temperature, naturally making it a more hygienic process compared to standard thermometry. Practitioners can choose to either wipe this thermometer clean between uses with a disinfectant cloth or use it with a clean disposable cover for each patient.
This thermometer is completely non-invasive and can even be used on sleeping or resting patients with minimal disturbance. This makes it ideal for use with patients of all ages and has applications in neonatal, pediatric and adult care. The device is latex-free, removing the risk of allergic reaction.
Temple Thermometry
Temple thermometers work by measuring the peak temperature of the temporal artery, which is located in the forehead and is easily visible during infrared imaging. Arterial blood traveling through the body is the same temperature as blood leaving the heart via the aorta, making it the most accurate way to determine body temperature. The thermometer is stroked across the forehead to gauge arterial temperature and touched momentarily behind the ear to account for any blood lost due to diaphoresis. The device measures the temperature of the skin over the temporal artery, and the Precision Infrared System measures the ambient temperature to capture the heat naturally by the skin. Proprietary Arterial Heat Balance (ABH) technology converts the recorded peak temperature to a core one by sampling the two sets of data 5000 times per use and synthesizing them to produce an arterial temperature reading.
Easy-to-use
This temple thermometer has been designed especially for easy, one-handed operation, making it ideal for use in schools and nursing homes. It features a large, easy-to-read, bright LED display and takes readings very quickly, making it ideal for fast, hassle-free use. Additionally, this thermometer features an audible indicator, an LED light indicator, a low battery indicator, and a 30-second auto-off function to help conserve battery life.
