    Description

Scarce!  1933 Chester Gardner, Indianapolis 500 Auto Racer, Hand Written and Signed Two Page Letter.  The two pages are separate and written on unlined paper.
Garner is writing to ask for express mailing on a gear.  Gardner competed in seven Indianapolis 500 races with two top five finishes.  He was also an accomplished sprint car and dirt racer.
Gardner died in 1938 in a racing accident during time trails at
    Flemington
Fair Speedway.  He swerved to miss a child that had ran onto the track and lost control and crashed resulting in his death.
There are some compacting folds and some light pencil writing visible.  Both the signature and hand written portion would rate 9/10.
