    Description

    1796 Large Cent.up for sale is a Liberty Cap large cent from 1796. It is identified as a Sheldon 87 (S-87), Rarity-3 (R-3) type. Ungraded but in Good condition.  The 6 in the date is not descernable as the 6 in the S-87 variety always has swelling under the bust causing the last digit "6" to be weak or obliterated on a worn coin. No corrosion or damage as you see most listed on Ebay these days. Still some detail on both reverse on obverse of coin. A rare and beautiful coin to have in any collection!
